Cathy Campbell is originally from Nassau County, New York. In 1987 she moved to the picturesque North Fork of Long Island with her husband and began a life involved with raising two beautiful daughters. Although she never received any formal art education, the desire to learn to paint was always with her. She found herself particularly drawn to, and interested in, watercolor paintings. In 2010 she was finally able to fulfill her dream when the Southold Free Library offered watercolor workshops given by MaryJane Stevens. From there, she has continued by taking workshops by Pat McCarthy and classes by other local artists/teachers. Cathy has also had the pleasure of attending workshops given by renowned artists/teachers/writers Lian Quan Zhen and Anne Abgott. Cathy's art is influenced by the beauty that surrounds her everyday while living on the East End of Long Island. She is also inspired by the tropical beauty of coastal Florida where she spends much of her time. She has recently begun painting from her own photographs of local scenes and is enjoying all of her learning experiences.
